We still have 4 small but very important guy roles that need to be filled. If you know of any of our un-shy male students who might be interested, or who may be able to be coerced (then be really glad they agreed), please have them see me ASAP. This play won't work at all without Romeo, and won't work nearly as well without a Tybalt, a good freshman Usher, and a guy to play Bill. The latter three parts can be converted to female roles but aren't nearly as funny if they are.

Sports: The varsity softball team (5-4, 1-1) defeated Long County in region play by a score of 10-0.  The game ended early in the 5th due to mercy rule.  Anslee Gibson received the win on the mound for the Lady Herons only giving up 1 hit and pitched the complete game.  Gibson began the game by striking out 8 of the first 9 batters.  Defensively, the Herons played perfect not having any errors.  Offensively, everybody hit or did something positive.  Standouts for the game offensively include Kayla Bawkin, Kelly Harris, and Brooke Moody.

From the Principal

Welcome to Brantley County High School. Our faculty and staff members encourage students to actively participate in their daily learning as well as to become involved in school sponsored activities. We offer many co-curricular and extracurricular activities to provide for varied student interests.

Brantley County High School strives to make AYP and is currently going through the high school accreditation process. Our athletic programs excel. Our student body is a mostly cohesive group primarily from three ethnic backgrounds: white, black and Hispanic. Students of all races are involved in athletic, co-curricular and social events, which culminate in a school-sponsored prom, an extravaganza looked forward to by the juniors and seniors.

Parents are always welcome. Teachers welcome parental involvement to form a team to see that your children progress satisfactorily. Teachers and administrators will talk with you at any time about the progress your child is making. Administrators also have an open door policy to discuss concerns that students and their parents may have.

Brantley County High School is the home of Herons, and is a great place to receive an education.
